Puerto Rico is about an 8 hour flight from DC or San Antonio. Fly into the Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport (SJU). You do not need a passport because the island is a territory of the United States. If you plan on staying in the San Juan area, there are many restaurants and beaches that are a short walk or Uber away. If you plan on exploring the island, we highly reccomend renting a car.
